Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon
Dr. Usman graduated from the B.J. Medical College, Poona in 1965. After completing his general surgical training and obtaining his Masters in Surgery, he proceeded to the UK where he obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1987. Following successful tenures at the Manchester Royal and Salford Hospitals, he returned to India as Consultant Surgeon at the Willingdon Hospital, New Delhi.
Since 1983, Dr. Usman was working at several teaching hospitals in Saudi Arabia. These have included the Riyadh Central and King Fahd National Guard Hospitals. His most recent appointment was as Consultant Laparoscopic and General Surgeon at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, where he was actively involved in post-graduate teaching and training of surgeons for FRCS and Arab Board exams. He was also the examiner for Surgery (Final) MBBS course at Kind Saud University, Riyadh, and has published original papers and articles in several peer-reviewed British and American journals. In recognition of his expertise, he was awarded Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Usman's interest in laparoscopic surgery dates back to 1992. While he is extremely adept at all types of minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, his main focus of attention has been in employing advanced laparoscopic techniques for Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic conditions. He has conducted several studies and projects related to Hepatobiliary Surgery.
